Any hotel with 3 or more Sunburst symbols means that they exceed Days Inns minimum standards. In other words, the higher the hotel's Sunburst rating, the higher the quality level at the facility.
Hotels without a Sunburst rating symbol means they meet all required minimum standards.
To assist you in making informed decisions, we also provide an NR (Not Rated) category.
This rating indicates the hotel did not meet our minimum standards at the time this directory was printed.
Further, a TBR (To Be Rated) notation means that the property has recently joined the Days Inns system,
and has yet to receive their first unannounced quality assurance inspection.
Note: Sunburst ratings should not be confused with the amount of amenities offered or the size of the hotel.
Sunburst ratings reflect the quality assurance score only. Please see the remainder of the hotel's listings
to determine the size and amenities offered.
How we inspect a Days Inn:
A member of the Quality Assurance staff evaluates each Days Inn property twice a year.
The Quality Assurance Department is made up of more than 40 well trained professionals. These
unannounced evaluations are conducted from the guests' point of view. All areas of the hotel including a
random sample of the guestrooms are evaluated for condition, appearance, cleanliness and compliance with
Days Inn standards. The Quality Assurance Representative will view everything from the parking lot, lobby
and swimming pool to the corridors vending areas and of course the guestrooms. Typically the property
General Manager or Executive Housekeeper will accompany the Quality Assurance Representative on the evaluation.
This way the property staff can see the deficiencies and understand what improvements are necessary.
Our goal is to identify problems and correct them before your stay is affected. The property receives
a score based on 500 possible points. These scores are used to determine the sunburst rating for the property.
