“Our Second Stay Here”

  , Garden Grove
We stayed at the Days Inn in Flagstaff East about 6 months ago and were very pleased. This time not so much. In both cases we stayed an entire week so the rates are excellent! When we arrived, we had a non-smoking room with a king bed. We unpacked and then found the bathroom door knob was hanging half off the door. The toilet seat lid would not stay up (not a problem for the wife but it was for me). We arrived late so, we went to bed after unpacking. The bed was absolutely TERRIBLE! As soon as you laid down you rolled to the center. It was obvious this mattress was well past it's use.The staff were very accommodating and gave us another room with twin queen beds. The beds in this room were much better. However, first thing I noticed were wires hanging from the ceiling where the smoke detector was suppose to be. This was corrected the next day when they cleaned the room. We were on the 3rd floor and the floor creaked loudly as you walked from one side of the room to the other. I felt sorry for anyone below us.The final thing I did not like was there were some stains on the bedspreads and room curtains. This is gross in my opinion. I'm quite sure they were clean but stains, come on!Last thing was the elevator. We arrived on a Sunday night and used the elevator which had a big, dried soda stain inside. The stain was cleaned up on Thursday the day we were checking out. Apparently the cleaning staff do not regularly check the one elevator for cleanliness. For the price some might say don't complain but, I think it is reasonable at any price to at least have a good bed, a smoke detector and bedding and curtains without stains. My 2cents
