“Beware room 209 - Watch out for sticking doors.”

  , Washington
Very conveniently located off of 401. Friendly staff. Attached Denny's restaurant for late night grub. Older style hotel that you can park in front of the room. If your room is on the lower floor, cars headlights may occasionally shine into the room. Only off putting experience is that our room door was a bit sticky, that is it needed a good shove to close, this should have been a red flag. In the morning when we were leaving to check out, the front door stuck and would not open. Initial attempts to open the door the lock would not release. Turning the lock and knob I could see that the bolt mechanism would not fully extract from the door jamb. We were TRAPPED for about 3 minutes trying to open the door. We called the front desk and the person stated he would send someone right away. We worked the door lock and knob for another 30-45 seconds and was able to finally open the door.Needless to say this is a EXTREMELY dangerous hazard. If there was a fire or need to escape quickly we could have been harmed or trapped. After opening the door, right outside were two housekeepers cleaning the two rooms next door. What transpired next also struck me as odd, I mentioned to them that the door lock did not work properly and we were stuck in the room, they should have someone to fix it asap. One of them laughed and smiled and the other just kind of looked at me. The other thing that was odd was while we were still stuck in the room, I could hear the two of them talking outside the room when I was working the lock back and forth, even pounding, kicking and swearing at the door. Neither of them seemed very concerned with what was happening a mere three feet away from them.We did notify the front desk and he mentioned that maintenance would look at it later. Other than that span of 5-10 minutes... the stay was nice and the people were friendly....
