“It could have been great”

  , Idaho Falls, Idaho
A really nice and authentically cute place. We arrived and were happy to get there. The room was situated atop some type of pump or utility room and something kept going on and off with a pretty substantial level of noise. The furnishings appeared mismatched, a vinyl couch, a chair, a non-height adjustable office chair for the desk. (It used to have that feature, but we couldn't make it work) The next morning was spent in the room as we were researching information. No room service knocked or appeared to replenish coffee, take out garbage at all. We did not have a do not disturb sign up or anything. There were guests who appeared to have a reunion of sorts, some 15 or so. They partied at the pool all day, occupying every lounge chair and the entire pool with pool toys, playing ball across the entire pool, and playing loud music into the very late night. Three calls to the desk after 10:30 pm failed to quiet the racket until close to midnight. We never got to use the pool for which we paid the use of. We didn't get to sleep until midnight, even though I stressed to the night clerk that we had to get up really early. No coffee, because no room service that morning.... That could have gone a lot better if the staff had been proactive. I feel that we couldn't use amenities we'd paid to enjoy and the night staff did not care to enforce a bit of reminding people of common courtesy when in joint accommodations. The place is nice - really. The staff was friendly. But they did not care to alleviate/remedy issues. We are not picky people and make due with what we have, but there are limits. Lastly, they do not use a secure wireless network connection, no password, which leaves you and your computer vulnerable, should you use it. No password is required to access their network.
