“Work guest services ever”

  , Westminster
We checked in to the hotel on 11/9/12 for two nights and were told immediately that the internet service in the building (suites) we would be in would be spotty at best and there was no apology for that fact. What motel in this day and age doesn't make sure their customers have adequate internet service? There were five of us in the group and we rented 2 suites. Two of us handled the check in. A third member of our party tried to log on to the internet and it wouldn't work so she tried calling the internet support service that was listed on a card in the room. When she couldn't get an answer there, she tried the front desk and was rudely informed that she had already been told that the internet service didn't work in our building and that the support service was non-existent (so one would ask why the card was still in the room????). When she stated that she had not spoken to the desk person (Cobi was her name) she was told the service was no good because of the storm. When my friend questioned what storm she was talking about, the desk person said sarcastically, "Those black clouds outside." For the record, they were just clouds. We live on the east coast and believe me we know what is and what isn't a storm, and mere clouds do not qualify as a storm. When we asked for advice on a restaurant we were directed to some local watering hole, which thankfully we did not follow that recommendation when there were so many more interesting looking places to eat. The next morning, we were inquiring of the desk clerk about information for the Sedona Trolley and the clerk, who works in a city that serves 4 million TOURISTS a year, informed us that he didn't live in Sedona and knew nothing about the trolley. The next day we asked for some extra plastic laundry bags, 5 to be exact, and were told we could have 3. They were plastic bags for Pete's sake. It was undoubtedly the worst customer service any of the five of us has ever experienced (and we all have traveled frequently) and I doubt any of us will be very willing to stay at a Days Inn again because of this experience. I've actually had better experiences at a Super 8!!!!!!
