“THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR NOT HAVING HEAT AVAILABLE IN OCTOBER IN MD!!”

Arriving after a 7 hr drive, the heating unit in our room did not work and as sr. citizens, we were unable to carry our luggage up an upper level room. The excuse given was that there was not way to know which heating/air units were operable until someone like us stayed in the the room and complained. This is an unacceptable excuse because no one was on call to repair the unit that evening and we endured a very uncomfortable night .Ironically, the night manager had a lot of men visiting,sitting, coming and going in the office. Had he suggested or offered to ask 1 or 2 of them to help us in taking our things upstairs, maybe 2 of us would not have caught the colds that we now have. In the end however, there is an equal chance the the unit upstairs probably was not working either since the only was to determine that is after someone moves in and complains about having no heat or air. PLEASE FIND ANOTHER WAY TO DETERMINE IF THE HEATING/AIR UNITS ARE WORKING BEFORE CUSTOMERS BOOK THE ROOMS. Check-in was unpleasant and a little scary because of the men in the lobby coming in and out and the unfriendly attitude of the night manager. The manager that I spoke with the nest morning was more professional and actually resolved all problems. The check-out manager was also friendly and efficient.
