“OK, I guess”

  , Fort Smith
Appearances can be deceiving. From the outside, the hotel looked halfway decent, like a smaller roadside hotel. The Lobby was very clean, though I noticed peeling wallpaper next to a couple windows. My room was on the 2nd Floor which made it difficult to get to with a cane. Fortunately, there was an elevator for me to use. NO idea why I was put on Second Floor: I thought I had asked for ground floor, but I was told there were no rooms (though I saw plenty of vacant rooms). The room was clean and everything was in working order, but the bed pillows were flat. I tried to use the Wi-Fi to check my e-mail on my phone, but I was unable to connect. I called the Front Desk to ask if there was a problem and was told there had been "no complaints" (maybe it simply doesn't work upstairs?).The parking lot seemed a bit small. There was only one space left that was close to my room and I didn't see many other spaces, yet the hotel appeared to less that half-full (so where does everyone park?).Plenty of hot water in the shower, but I could hear water running whenever anyone else was using the shower or running to commode. It was a damp, chilly night so I turned on the heater, but it seemed to struggle to take the chill off my room. Having a table in front of it, blocking the airflow didn't help. After about an hour, I finally got the room temperature close to where I wanted it.Breakfast had a good variety, though I was a bit disappointed that all the cereal was pre-sweetened...might as well poison me. Fortunately, there was a waffle machine, so I fixed myself a waffle, though I wished there had been some bacon to go with it.I felt rushed when it came to leave: the housekeepers were out early trying to clean rooms and their supervisor kept telling them to hurry up.Overall, not a bad stay, but not a spectacular stay....just kind of "meh".
