“Franks Wynne Visit”

  , Moneta
The Days Inn in Wynne, AR is the nicest hotel in town. Unfortunately it is the only indoor corridor hotel in town. There are a few outside corridor Motels and they look even worse than the Days Inn, but to be honest I have never been inside any of them. We arrived in Wynne on Monday 1-21-2013 to work in a local warehouse owned by a customer of ours. We checked in and I was given room 201 which is at the top of the lobby stairs (there is no elevator). The hotel and especially the guestrooms need some serious updating. The bedspreads were pretty tired as was the carpet in the room. The mattress was a bit soft for my liking, but at least it was comfortable. The tv was a far from a flat screen, but at least the color was good and I had a remote. One of my associates rooms did not have a remote. The bathroom was not real pleasant either the tile was cracked and the wallpaper was pealing in multiple places. The shower curtian rod was attached to the wall with a "spacer" made from a 1x4" furing strip painted tan and attached to the wall with sheetrock screws. We check out on the 23rd, but ended up checking back in because we needed to stay another day. Room 114 was about the same as 201 except the bathroom was not as nice. More pealing wallpaper and multiple holes in the wall where the previous shower curtian was attached, removed and never repaired. The tub in this room was also dirty, cracked and did not feel secure when showering. Also cracked tile in this bathroom. Normally when I travel I stay in Hampton Inns, but occasionally must use La Quinta, Comfort, Quality and Red Roof inns. All are economical choices but normally they are at least clean. This Days Inn was economical but not so clean. Next time, if there is a next time in Wynne, I think I will stay elsewhere and commute.
