“Weekend trip for family wedding”

  , Huntsville
Internet connection worked after checkin Fri afternoon, but did not work later that night. Called front desk and they said they would reset the router. Still didn't work 30 min later, but front desk staff said he hadn't had time to reset it yet. Still didn't work next morning, so mentioned it to new front desk staff. She verified that her WiFi device did not work either. Said she would try to get it fixed that day. When I returned that afternoon, it was still not working, nor was it working when I checked out Sun morning. When I first entered room after checkin Fri afternoon, it smelled of cigarette smoke. I returned to lobby and asked staff if the room was really nonsmoking. He checked his computer and said it was nonsmoking. There were several rooms on first floor that had nonsmoking signs, but others (mine included) did not. I assumed that all adjacent rooms in that section would be nonsmoking, but I later saw someone smoking coming out of one of the unmarked rooms. There were no ashtrays in the room and I did not have breathing problems like I sometimes do when around cigarette smoke, so maybe the odor was caused by a previous occupant smoking when he should not have. However I will not stay there again because of that.Other than the lack of WiFi availability and odor of room, the room itself was clean and comfortable, complimentary breakfast was good, and price was reasonable. While nice to have, a refrigerator, microwave, TV, and free breakfast are not necessary for me if the room is reasonably clean and has internet access. When I travel I usually do not spend much time in the room, but I do want to be able to have a good night's sleep and be able to check email, sport scores, weather, etc.
