“Okay stay for a small town”

  , Houston
Lakeview could not accomodate me for the entire duration of my stay in Chetwynd, so I chose the #2 ranked hotel on tripadvisor. Days Inn is not a terrible hotel, but it did make me feel like I was in a small town with no hope for anything better.Check-in confirmation emails had to be requested by me, and wound up coming from a gmail account. I think that's a little weird, as I expected better from a recognized hotel chain. My hotel room was on the ground floor, at the end of the hall. Every heavy boot stomping up and down the stairs could be clearly heard in my room, as well as my neighbour's tv. Also, the floor in my room was all laminate, so sandals or slippers or socks is advised.Coffee and creamer in the room was handed out in a very limited supply, although the front desk agent was very accomodating in providing more. The A/C in the room was kind of broken. The dial only operated on one setting, and had to be plugged in and unplugged if I wanted to use it. Very loud A/C, btw. The lighting in the room was also really terrible, with only two small desk lamps for the entire room. The bed was very comfortable, although I was afraid to use the duvet...how often do hotels really wash those things?Breakfast at the hotel is not really breakfast...it's better to call it a small variety of morning snacks. Go to A&W for a decent breakfast; I drove around town one morning and couldn't find anything else in town to eat, other than Tim Horton's.I'd stay here again if there were no other options, but next time I'm in town I'll be trying out an independant hotel in the hopes it's a little more cozy.
