“More understanding”

  , Grand Canyon
Me and my husband came to a funeral for my father. We Traveled from Grand Canyon, Az to Bakersfield, Ca. we traveled 9 hours and when we arrived we were raw with emotions and very tired. Our Friend and The GM of the Scottsdale, Az Travel Lodge(Jim Kiselberge)was kind enough to set us up with a room under his discount but he for got to send the employee voucher. The young lady @ the counter(She was Awsome) Found all my info in the computer, set our room up but realized we did not have our voucher with us so she lked to her Manager. And he said well we cant let them stay without it. We called Jim and he called the manager. They had my Credit info from the reservation Jim made on the Computer. But because we did not have the Voucher we had to wait 45 minutes even after Jim called him Twice he still made us wait 20 minutes before he told us everything was ok and he was gonna let us stay. He took care of 2 employees one who was staying at the hotel and one to just shoot the breeze with before he said he would let us stay. I would have not had a problem paying full price if he would have just let us check in. They already had my Credit card and I already had reservations so why not let us go to our room. We work for The Company Xanterra in The Grand Canyon. I work @ Bright Angel Lodge & My Husband Is a Training Manager. We would have never treated anyone(includeding our own employees) the way we were treated By this Manager. We were even gracious enough to give the manager our Business Card and to tell him that if he was ever in the Grand Canyon we would give him the same respect he gave us, but to give us time to accommodate him. So will I stay at that particular Days Inn? NO! Thank You, Tracey
