“Room 213 Visit”

  , Edmonton
My significant other and I stayed in one of the Jacuzzi Suites at the Days Inn express in Edmonton and it was a very nice building. The rooms were average for a hotel, meeting expectations for nearly all travellers but not going too far over the top to make you think they tried too hard. The staff was gracious enough to let us check in early after an exasperating morning and the amenities of the hotel were appreciated; the mini fridge had a freezer in it, there was sufficiently close access to ice machines and there was a microwave, even, which is not something I experience much when I travel. The jacuzzi was sufficient for a couple to lounge in, and the room itself was spacious.Perhaps the most disappointing part of the journey was the exceptionally poor wireless service. When we arrived it worked but had a monstrous latency when using our laptops to do simple things like surf the internet or play games, and after coming back from dinner at night it was simply down altogether. A call to the front desk did not resolve the issue and it was quite frustrating, considering an evening of Netflix and relaxing in the tub and on the comfy bed was what was in order. It may seem like a petty thing, but should I have needed to use it for business while travelling, I would have been let down. There was no wired internet in the room either, as a backup for when the wireless failed. At the price of the room, internet should have been reasonable and expected. I would likely not stay at this hotel based on this information, but naturally those with less internet-oriented needs will find the facility more than adequate.
