“Worst hotel I have stayed in”

Room #304 assigned to me on check in had strong chemical odor. When I pointed this out to the front office manager, Gary, he said there was no other room in the hotel.Gary said that if I did not check in, I would have to pay for the first night regardless. He also said that I had received a good rate, so I must make do with the room he was assigning me. I explained that I had booked the room directly through the Days Inn web site, so was payng what they had advertised. This had no effect on him. I asked to speak to his manager, Bimal [-], who I was told was unavailable. Upon pleading with Gary, he put me in a lower floor room, #209, even though I had informed the hotel before my arrival that I wanted only a top floor (3rd floor) because I had a sleeping disorder. The hotel had committed to honoring my request.I spoke with the other front office staff, Ray and Ashvin [-], requesting that I wanted to speak to the manager, Mr. Bhagvat. He did not contact me once. Room #209 was filthy all over, with big stains on the furniture, shower curtain, bath tub, etc. Upon checking out of the hotel on 10/6/12, I sent Mr.[-] an email at bhagvbim@wynhg.com, the address listed on his Days Inn business card. My email bounced back. I called the hotel and asked to speak to Mr. [-]. I recounted to him my experience at his hotel, and requested a refund for my stay. He told me that Days Inn is independently owned and operated, that Days Inn Corporate or Wyndham Hotels have no control over him, said that he would not refund a penny, abused me with intense profanity, telling me: "Go to hell, [--]," and slammed the phone.
