“Worst Hotel Stay I Ever Had”

  , Wilmington
We stayed as part of a group of over 20 families for a hockey tournament. We were charged $20 per night more than the AAA rate, and a bogus safe fee was added to the bill. The hotel is in a seedy area. It butts up to houses, and there is no fence on the property. The hotel is dirty and run-down. The breakfast was wretched, especially the eggs which we pooled with water. We were given the worst room in the house, right next to the lobby, ice machines, and snacks. People used them all night. We asked for another room. The clerk was rude and refused b/c we were a block. the first night, a fight broke out on the second floor hallway. Six police came to break it up at 3AM. The next day, broken glass and blood were still in the hallway. We had to tell staff it was there. The second night, we bought pizza for the team. The clerks refused to let us use the breakfast room as EVERY OTHER hotel has done for us this year. Instead, we had to stand in the tiny lobby while the clerk alternately ignored and fumed at us. Never, ever will I stay here again.
