“Great place...with one notable exception”

  , Santa Rosa
So we had just come back from working the election in Nevada and wanted to relax and decompress for one night in the Gold County and I found a great rate at Days Inn outside Sutter Creek. Hotel was very nice--a lot of band for the buck. We had a LOT of stuff with us from our week-long trip and had just finished unloading everything when the person at the front desk informed me that they had put two men in the room next to ours and "these guys are regulars but they can make a lot of noise." I was not about to pack everything up and move our room after just having done that so said I really didn't want to do that. So within an hour they were talking loudly, singing, pounding on something in their rooms and generally making a racket. We decided that if they had not quieted down after we got back from dinner we would go ahead and move. They seemed to be fairly quiet when we got back, so we didn't move. HOWEVER, at 6:30 the next morning they are shouting and singing again and woke me up. I called the front desk and they called the room--they were a bit quieter but I was already awake and basically it caused me to be tired the whole next day when I had hoped to be rested. My issue here is that the parking lot looked to have about 5 cars in it. WHY on earth would the front desk staff put us in rooms next to each other when clearly there were a variety of rooms in the hotel vacant? I am giving very low marks for service and sleep quality because of this incident. Very bad judgement on the part of the staff. It basically ruined my stay there. Also, the two staff I dealt with were not very friendly or helpful. Overall, the hotel was nice but the staff was very sub-par.
