“good price, lots of glitches”

  , Keyport
We arrived at check in time. Our kitchen unit (which we require due to food allergies) was around back. The only was to the room was though the sprinklers which were on, the entire length of the back of the hotel where the outside units were. We got drenched. The red light was blinking on the phone. I knew I did not have a message waiting. The front desk gave me a code to turn it off. It didn't work. There were no cooking supplies in the kitchenette. Was told to go to the dollar store across the street, which we did. We had to buy a fry pan, dish towels, silverware, dish soap, sponge, paper towels, etc. At 5:30 a.m. the next morning I was woken by an automated "wake-up" call I had not requested. After some days of travel and little sleep, this was the first morning we were going to sleep in, and it was much needed. I was unable to fall back asleep after four 1/2 hours of sleep. I went to make coffee in the half-light so as to not awaken my son. I was familiar with the type of pot and filled it with water, grounds. I placed my finger on the on/off button, and received a shock. I screamed and woke up my son. Upon turning on the light, we saw there was not on/off button, but rather a hold where one should be. Instead of switching on the pot, my finger had gone into the housing of the coffee and I received a strong shock, to the point that we could smell burned flesh and my finger was sore for several days. There was also water all over the counter. There was a hole in the back of the pot where the water goes. Upon calling the front desk, they brought us a new one. Static on the T.V. Lots of upstairs noise. The hotel was not full and a family with kids running around were put in a room above us. Again--no one was thinking. The pluses? Comfortable firm matteresses and nice linens. Good strong A/C, decent rates, especially with my AARC discount, and privacy at the back of the hotel where the kitchen units are on the ground floor for my husband's motorcycle. Guests can park their vehicles in front of the rooms. This may be why we saw so many motorcyclists staying there.
