“The Worst”

  , London
Several years ago I stayed at the University Lodge & noted it as one of the worst hotels ever. It has changed its name to Days Inn but nothing else has changed. I counted 3 dead roaches on my carpet, which was old & dirty anyway. The bed covers were stained & the pillow cases badly marked. The furniture was old & tired, as was the general appearance of the room & the whole hotel. I didn't get as far as trying the shower because I didn't want to step anywhere in the room without shoes on. The staff were friendly enough but otherwise it was a terrible experience. I have seen much better accommodation supplied for homeless people. I would have felt overcharged at $30 a night, let alone $69
