“Nice Day, Nice Stay”

  , West Hartford
I have to say, for the great price, this was a deal. We had two rooms for two nights, each room with two beds, non-smoking. Having read some of the other reviews, I was hoping to just get out of the Days Inn New Haven with my life, haha! But no worries, really. Okay, it's a bit worn and hasn't been renovated in a while (but so what, so is my own home!) - the bathrooms were fine, the rooms didn't smell of smoke, linens were clean, there was no late-night noise or craziness, both rooms had a refrig and one of those small coffee pots, too (but strangely, no clock, but who cares? and the bed quilts have obviously been around too long - but we removed them immediately, anyway). It's across from a Walmart, there is a Dunkin Donuts next door, and a Taco Bell visible up the hill. Dare I say, our stay was even peaceful. We were delighted that there was a simple but swell help-yourself free "breakfast" waiting for us in the lobby in the morning - nothing fancy for sure, but the coffee was better than average and appreciated, and there were donuts and little muffins and cereal. I can't say much about the staff, as we didn't have (or need) any extra contact. Now did I mention the price? Yes, yes, if you don't need fancy, but just want a bed in New Haven, a block or two from the highway, judging by our two days, this could be a good economical bet.
