“3 days at the Days Inn Ocala”

  , Royal Palm Beach
we were 2 single women needing 2 separate rooms - one smoking and one non smoking...a challenge anywhere. Plus we didn't have a lot of money to spend for our get together. Lori the manager was so pleasant on the phone and I booked online for the better rate of $35 a night and then called back with conformation # to get a location for our 2 rooms. The king non smoking had sliding door facing the pool and rooms were right next to each other( but no odor issue for the nonsmoker). My room was ok for a smoking room((215), brought my own Clorox wipes and cleaned things, took off the ugly gold duvets and sprayed some febreeze and the room became much better and our home for 3 days. My 73 yr old mothers room was much better (#213 first floor) . We weren't sure the first night if we needed to move, hallway doors were heavy& loud when they slammed shut, lock on my sliding door was flimsy at best(but had a security bar thankfully) and in need of repair for security reasons...but we made do for the price. AC was good, frig worked fine, showers water pressure was great. Housekeeping was friendly and got whatever we needed, the maintenance man was great bringing a microwave that worked, and checking the sliding door for me. Amanda and Lori at the front desk were friendly & patient with all the times we locked our room doors with the key card still in there...they made us new ones 4 times.Bottom line, as a woman I would not be comfortable staying there alone, but if your a family on a budget- this is your place. Read all the reviews, bring some small cleaning supplies and know that it is an older motel in need of some TLC, but the staff seems to be working toward making this a more updated and secure motel for everyone. We're already planning our next trip and intend to stay in this motel again. Looking to eat...Swampys was great out front, and turn right out of the motel about a mile down on the right is a plaza with WinnDixie and Darrell's Dinner...which was very friendly, clean and excellent breakfast and lunches served!!
