“So bad it became funny.”

I generally like Days Inn. I count on it when traveling, especially when I travel alone. This Days Inn advertises on its billboards $44 single rooms, and "The best deal under the sun." I usually don't go for the cheapest room rate because I believe you get what you paid for. But, Days Inn advertised it on a billboard, so I thought I would try. The first room they gave me looked like a crime scene. The bed was stripped and askew, and there were 2-3 cases of empty beer bottles strewn throughout the room, it reeked, and was clearly NOT a non-smoking room. My next room had a made bed, but smelled dank. The floor was not vacumed, the curtain was off its rod in places, the bathroom had a dirty floor with hair in places, the toilet had not been cleaned and had feces on it, the mirror still had water drops around the sink area, the floor length mirror had a heart on it drawn with a fingertip when it was steamed up. The fridge food remains on the outside. On and On. The worn rug was a bright turquois, and the thread bare bed spread was a dingy gold color. The cable was staticy with minimal channels and the Wi Fi did not work. It was late and the desk clerks were minimally helpful, although nice enough. More like, "Yeah, its an old building. And, I'll let the cleaning staff know. But not, would you like another room, or, can we upgrade you? It was a torrential rain storm and later in the evening, so I stayed. I just kept fully dressed and didn't use the toilet during my stay. I also used one of the two towels and most of the one role of toilet paper to clean the bathroom sink, tub and floor. I understand that the room was cheap, and I get what I pay for. However, it was advertised by Days Inn as a great value. This looked like the free rooms crews are given when working on the hotel. Days Inn is usually reliable. Travelers shouldnt be duped into stopping here if the management plans on treating them so poorly. And, note to self, have a look at the room before I check in and pay next time. (Cash no less.) I would give them a minus star if I could.
