“To many problems...”

I rarely write a review for anything. That being said I felt I needed to from this past visit. First and foremost the exterior is very drab; it is literally falling apart. When I checked in the staff person was watching T.V. while talking on the phone with someone. From the conversation I could tell it wasn't with a customer. No biggie it happens from time to time. I get our room key and my fiancee and I head to our room. We get inside and we're actually surprised the room is as nice as it is. My relief the room is better than expected is short lived. The bathroom area has some of the worst workmanship I've ever seen. The sink counter is slanted so much that when I place my deodorant on the counter it slides off. Hmm, I can live with this I guess. Go into the bathroom and the door will not shut. The fit and finish is so poor that I can only assume they haven't finished remodeling our room. I call the front desk and they assure me that the room is in top shape...We decide to suck it up and stay due to the low rate we got on the room. I regret that now; 12:00am our first night and we are awoken by a train horn that sounds as if it is directly behind us. Go back to sleep; 2:30am rolls around we are awoken by sirens from emergency vehicles. This happened both nights we were there. Not to mention the people yelling at each other and the couple next door that decided to have some "fun" at 3:30am in a rather loud manner... I can't fault the hotel for these instances, they can't control how people behave. Along with these problems there were several less than stellar people wandering around the parking lot area at all times. We are both in the law enforcement field and we carry our weapons off duty. Even with our firearms we weren't comfortable with the situation that surrounded this hotel.I would stay away from this place...
