“Stay soured me on Days Inn”

- On arrival we found no one in the lobby. A man walked in after about 3 or 4 minutes, walked behind the counter and looked at me expectantly (no greeting). I asked for a room with king size bed on the bottom floor. I was given a price of $76+ dollars. Surprising as I had noted a sign stating $44.95 as I exited the interstate. On questioning the clerk I was then given the $44.95 rate + $6.00 as it was Saturday and the lower rate was for weekdays only which I did not see on the exit ramp sign. The adjoining IHop restaurant offered a 10% discount for folks staying at the motel. Nice, but in the morning I found that this particular Days Inn is one of the few motels in American that does not include breakfast in it's rate. Breakfast at the IHop was over $20.00 including the 10% discount. Overall a disappointing experience.
