“No smoking room needs to be just that!”

I had an extremely horrible room at this particular motel. I requested a non smoking room and although the sign on the door indicated that it was non smoking, there was plenty of evidence that prior guests did smoke in that room. The air was stagnant with the disgusting odor. Because there weren't other non smoking room, I was left without options. If I hadn't fell ill, I would have checked out and driven as far as I had to to find another place. At this point, motel 6 was looking better. That's very sad.I returned from the hospital after midnight and when I turned the sheets down, to my horror, there were cigarette burns in the sheets, mattresses, and a very large one in the bedspread! I was about to switch beds because that was plain DISGUSTING!!!! When I turned the sheets down on the other bed, it was just as disgusting.Upon, checkout, I brought this up to the clerk. She informed me that as far as the bed linen goes, they just make the beds with whatever clean sheets they have regardless of the condition. How foul! I wonder if they even wash their linens. The clerk said she would let the manager know. I took this as a dismissal since she didn't seem all too concerned that a guest was not satisfied. I worked in a motel, and my standards are very high. For the outrageous, overpriced room, I expect to get what I pay for. I felt that I should be reimbursed for the room due to the condition of the room.This reflects poorly on the Days Inn chain. I will NEVER stay at the Days Inn again, and I will also put the word out to my colleagues who travel often, to steer clear from the Days Inn. That's quite a bit of business that you will be losing. Word of mouth can either make or break a business.Thank you for taking the time to read this scathing review. I hope the matter gets rectified. I would really appreciate full reimbursement based on false advertisement.Respectfully submitted,Susan M Snead
