“ATL weekend with kids”

  , Atlanta
I assumed from the photos that the hotel was nice. It was rated on the better end of the scale as far as star rating. When we arrived at 5:30 PM, we were told that house keeping was running behind and our room wasn't ready. There was another group of about 10 people in the lobby also having to wait for housekeeping to finish their rooms. Then, we came back at about 7:30 pm and were given room keys to 108. Which is the far end of the first floor. The manager stopped us and told that the room would smell bad as it had been wet from people going in and out of the pool. He wanted to change our room. Good thing.... The room smelled like a gym locker. We were put on the second floor. When I went inside, the refridgerator and freezer weren't on. I called the front desk and asked for a working fridge as I had cold items. She told me that they always unplug everything in the room so to plug it in. That was a bit crazy to me. Not to mention of course my cold stuff couldn't go in there because it was hot at that point. I got in the shower later that night and yelled out to my son to ask why he had hung is washrag over the shower curtain. He said he hadn't. It was on the far side of the toilet in the floor..... That washrag was someone elses!! At this point, I am really upset. I turn to rinse my face and there is a melted bar of soap in the shower holder. That was also not ours. That is disgusting. I will never go back. We travel at least once a month and this was definitely the nastiest hotel we have stayed in. As we were leaving, the owner and an employee were yelling at each other in the laundry room. Cursing at each other. I didn't appreciate this at all.
