“pleasantly surprised for an older hotel”

On the day I arrived, I arrived before check-in time of 2pm. I said I thought I would just stop in to see if I could check-in early, but first needed to use the restroom as I had driven all night. I was told the restroom was out of order. I asked if there was another restroom I could use. I was told there was a gas station down the road. I felt that I was disrespected as a human being not to mention a paying customer with reservations. Obviously they must have a restroom for themselves, but not for a prepaid customer in need. That was enough to make me consider staying somewhere else if I had not already made the reservation. I will be traveling to the area at least three times a year as my son is enrolled in the Poly Tech school down the road. I could be bitter and complain about other small things but I choose to say that the place was clean and that it was satisfactory enough for me, but as for being treated the way I was considering that I was in some distress, I would never stay there again because of the disrespectful and unconcerned way I was treated. In the future my family and friends who would also like to visit my son in Marietta in the near future will stay somewhere else. The woman who checked us in appeared to be part of a family that worked there or possibly owned the Days Inn which makes her attitude all the more disappointing. When I immediately left in search of the gas station down the road she stopped me to ask my name and reservation information. I said, I have to leave because I must find a rest room. She actually looked put out and again displayed a lack of courtesy and compassion for a fellow person. I was humiliated in front of my younger son and others who had just arrived as I was leaving. I will repeat that I believe I paid a fair price for a clean hotel but would never return to an establishment that does proves common courtesy is rather uncommon at this Days Inn Hotel.
