The desk staff was knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. Some updating and general cleaning could be in order. The hallway carpets need a good cleaning or possible replacing. Maybe update the public area lighting. Room was very clean and comfortable overall. No strange odors. Bed was especially nice and comfy. Heating/cooling worked well and not overly noisy. Housekeeping needs to make sure toilet paper and tissues are stocked with extras. A few extra bath towels would have been nice.Biggest problems were in the breakfast area. Granted, guests should clean up after themselves, but when they don't, the staff needs to jump in and do it. One staff member, the cook I guess, was kind of sloppy in appearance and seemed to watch a lot of TV. Counters, tables and floor were dirty. We saw one set of salt & pepper shakers in the whole room. No coffee, only tea. Bread and bagels were stale. On the first day when we asked for napkins, we got a pile of stiff paper hand towels. That pile was replenished all four mornings. Still no real napkins. Scrambled eggs were very good. Could have used a second waffle maker. In general, our stay was a good value for the money. The place is just a little rough around the edges. We weren't expecting a top-shelf hotel, and we weren't disappointed. We would give them another try and would stay here again.
