“Fair at best.”

When I entered the lobby, and was assaulted by the smell of Febreze, I knew that this may be challenging. Fortunately, my schedule on this trip only had me in the room for a few hours to sleep, so I went ahead and checked in. I was pleasantly surprised when the proprietor upgraded me to a "suite," (it was a bit larger, and had a counter in the middle, sort of making it two rooms . . .but it was really just a bigger room with a counter in it. The hotel was older, so I overlooked the cosmetic issues, and the heater was okay, (it was below zero outside), so I was content, at this point. I didn't need to use the bathroom until morning, when I showered, and prepared to start my business day. In the shower was soap and hair from a previous guest - yuck. The ceiling had been poorly repaired, and the walls where the shower rod attaches needed spackling. It was nasty. Of course, the bathtub floor was slippery from soap, and I got grossed out. So the room was okay. The cleanliness was terrible, but it was so cheap that I really shouldn't expect much more, other than I know to spend a couple extra bucks and stay somewhere nicer next time. The low-watt lights were dim and distracting, and of course, the room smelled like Febreze, too. Live and learn.
