I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past but had not been back for a couple of years. It is a convenient location for I have family just down the road and have always had a good experience there so I reserved a room over the Thanksgiving Holiday since the rates were good for a 3 night stay. When we arrived, the exterior, lobby, and hallways were decent but not until we got into the room did the disappointment hit. The room just looked worn and run down. The first thing we noticed was the lack of a smoke detector. The wires were there but no detector. We reported this to the front desk and it was replaced by the time we returned that evening. The dresser top was badly scratched, worn furniture, and a so so comfortable bed. The sheets were almost as thin as the scratchy towels and a large section (8" wide) of wall covering in the bathroom was peeling off. There were also drips of adhesive running down the front of the sink where some sloppy repair was done. The whirlpool tub did not look too clean so we did not use it. The shower head spray selector was barley movable it was so tight. One night-stand had a sticky glass ring that was left from some previous occupant and was still there after we left. On the third night when we got back to the room we found that no one had come in to clean and make the bed. We needed towels and a bath mat but the front desk only had pool towels so we made do with those. The continental breakfast fare was as expected but since we usually got there about 9am (it ends at 10am) there was never any orange juice and the apple juice typically was about to run out and there were slim pick-ins on doughnuts and english muffins. There were plenty of corn flakes (plain or frosted) and bread to toast but we usually had the make-it-yourself Belgian waffle and a cake doughnut with juice or coffee.Overall our room was a disappointment because of the tired and worn appearance that we were not expecting. The location, for us, is great but we will be looking for someplace else to stay the next time we visit that area.
