“Disappointing”

  , South Bend
This hotel was a big disappointment. We arrived for Ball State graduation late due to weather conditions. When we arrived, the parking lot had not been plowed. The older gentlemen that checked us in was very nice and helpful in answering questions and getting us checked in. Once in the room, we found out that we paid for a room that stated on the site that we would have a pull out sofa for our extra guest, only to find out it was a regular sofa. The guys did bring us a cot, however, no explanation or discount was offered. The room was not clean, the carpet was nasty and stained, the covers on the bed looked as if it had been shredded. I was not comfortable. We slept on top of the covers in our clothes the entire night. The next morning, the only thing I felt safe having was a cup of coffee from the "continental breakfast", while we were being stared by other "guests" at as if we weren't suppose to be there. At check out, the young girl was rude and short with us. I asked for a receipt during which she told me since I booked online, I would need to get my receipt online although I knew better because I ALWAYS book online and never had that problem. I didn't argue with her but I was greatly aggravated and disappointed. I just put this on my mental list of hotels to NEVER book again. The only reason I rated a @ for hotel staff was because of the older gentleman at check-in.
