“Horrible place, never stay here”

A few friends and I went black friday shopping in Williamsburg, IA. We stopped in Des Moines because one person from our party had an interview in Des Moines. Before leaving Omaha, we checked specifically about late checkout, and they said "No problem." We checked in as planned. The front desk guys were pretty nice and again said, "No problem. You can check out by 1:30pm." Initially we were sent to room 215, which had a broken headboard. We called down to the front desk, and were rerouted to room 217. The friendly front desk guy brought up the key and apologized. The second room, although intact, looked like the bathroom floor hadn't been cleaned. There was dirt globs, etc on the floor. I didn't really want to walk around the room without my shoes on. We left for Williamsburg, and shopped all night. We were called by our other party member at 11:45AM, panicking, saying we had to get out of the room by 12:30pm. Had we not been closeby, this would not have happened. I was completely infuriated and gave the front desk a piece of my mind. An hour actually did make a huge difference in our case. I wanted to shower after the long night of shopping. The front desk worker didn't have any idea of what the guys last night had told us. After noticing how upset I was, he said "I now understand. I apologize. Take as long as you need to shower." At this point we had already gotten our stuff to the van. I got my shower, and we were out of the room by 1:15pm. I will never ever return here, or recommend it. We payed $70, which I would not have minded paying more for a room elsewhere. The people are friendly but honestly the hotel is horrible. It's like those hotels in the movies, where you walk up to each room via an outdoor corridor.
