“An oceanfront room should NOT have restaurant tables between you & the ocean!”

  , Nevis, Mn
We booked a ground floor oceanfront room. It had one tiny window (which was itself totally disappointing)...and the window opened onto a cement patio for the overflow tables from the restaurant. One table was so close to our window, we could have reached out and eaten off the table. To get to the ocean, we actually had to walk through the restaurant patio! It is completely false, unethical advertising to call this an oceanfront room without explaining the reality. We found many many complaints (going back 2 years) about this on The room was tiny, cramped and dark. The restaurant noise was constant--especially the drink blenders in the bar...15 feet from our unit. The parking lot was also tiny and cramped, and worst of all, the lot was also the parking lot for the restaurant. Every evening, the lot was filled with diners, and no parking spots left for us. we had to park in a nearby unlighted gravel access lot for the beach. When we checked in, the key machine was broken so we had no key for our room, plus our telephone didn't work so we couldn't even call the lobby. If you want to stay here (the beach is very VERY nice and the price is cheap compared to everything else in the area), avoid EVERYTHING overlooking the restaurant. Insist on a room on the other side of the hotel, and realize that your room will be tiny. The only acceptable oceanfront room is the second floor oceanfront suite on the opposite side from the restaurant.
