“Clean room but disappointing front desk customer service”

  , Carey
First off the room was CLEAN, the bedding was nice/new and the pillows and mattresses (we had 2 queen beds) were nice. Unfortunately, when we contacted the front desk to request an extra blanket (we had asked about a hide a bed when making the reservations with central reservations but didn't get one) we were told there were NO BLANKETS available. When I questioned this the gentleman said "well I'll check with housekeeping but we don't have extras" and assured me he'd call back to let me know. 15 min. later I called back down to the front desk as we received no return call (or blanket), and was told that he had confirmed that there are no blankets available. In the morning we enjoyed the breakfast (nothing fancy but all items that were provided were well stocked and the housekeeper/kitchen staff member was helpful and friendly). Upon checkout our customer service/front desk disappointment continued when we approached the front desk and the woman working treated us like we were interrupting her (although she was just standing there looking out the front window). Then we gave her our room key/card with the room number written on the envelope from the night before, she looked at them, dropped them on the counter and grumpily demanded "Room number?!". We told her the room number and she typed a bit then walked down to the other end of the counter where the printer was, took the documents off the printer for our signature and laid them on the counter there saying "you have to sign here" and walked away - first she did NOT bring them to us (yes, it's just a few steps for us too, but really?!), and she did not treat us with any kindness or respect. As a side note, we went to the pool around 7pm (it's open until 10) and the only lights that were on were what seemed to be some standard "Security" lights. The switches on the wall did NOTHING. I would have called the front desk for help but after our bad experiences in asking for a blanket I didn't bother.
