“Paying for location and little else”

Immediately across from New Orleans airport, the location cannot be beat. However...1) Noisy air conditioner 2) Nearby freight train line running all night, blowing horn at crossing3) Under flightpath (at least on my stay)4) Poor closing door with flimsy exterior wall allows in all sound from parking lot. Ground floor rooms open to parking lot, not an interior hall. Did not feel very safe or private....translates into very poor sleep. Additionally...1) Free, "secure" wi-fi was unsecured and very poor reception which was often dropped, perhaps due to weather, but unreliable2) Attached IHOP restaurant (admittedly not hotel's problem) out of chicken, got my order wrong and couldn't make correct change. Lack of available alternatives for people without a car dragged the whole experience down.3) Sheets were stained with "burned" spots from the dryer. They were promptly changed on request, however.4) Vending machines on-site were out of water.5) Room too dark for my taste6) Desk chair in room did not recline and only other seating option was a chair from a dining table set.7) Coffee maker in room hadn't been used for some time so the pot I made had bits of lime residue floating in pot after brewing (free coffee was available in lobby).8) Wrong information throughout hotel guest literature suggests it has not been reviewed for several years (ex. misnames the restaurant on-site).Good points 1) 24 hour shuttle service basically on-demand to airport or within 5 mile radius.2) Friendly staff trying to make the best of a hard situation over things that were not their fault (but are ultimately their responsibility). 3) Bath and vanity area very bright and clean
