“chemical odor”

  , Springfield
I know it's not the Ritz, but this hotel was pretty bad. We were visiting my daughter who is a freshman at the local university so we wanteed to bring our pet and this was one of only two pet-friendly hotels I found. Online, this looked like a decent one. The first thing I noticed was the overpowering chemical, clean smell. Yes, there could be worse smells, but it was extremely strong. We almost left because of it. There were lots of bugs that I had to get rid of so that my dog wouldn't try to eat them, mostly crickets that were almost bigger than my chihuahua. The blow dryer didn't work, the bath water was red, the toilet made a funny sound all night, and we couldn't shut the bathroom door because the bed was too close. The people above us either walked very loudly or the building was paper thin. Finally, breakfast was measly and there was no regular cream for the coffee. It was either powdered cream (yuck) or vanilla cream. It seems like a simple request. We didn't bother saying anything because I was on crutches and too exhausted to move. We will never return.
