“Breakfast Peeves”

  , Granite Springs, Ny
This may sound silly, but I can never understand it when a motel's 'continental breakfast' includes different cereals, both hot and cold, but no bananas. Most people like bananas and will eat one in the morning rather than an apple, especially on their cereal. There were plenty of apples and oranges to be had with breakfast, even though there was also orange juice, but no bananas. If I am am forced to eat low quality instant oatmeal or cold cereal, it would be nice to have a banana to cut up into it for some real taste and energy. The worst part of all is that I was part of a 45 person group who cycled there from NY to MA and most people know that athletes use bananas for energy, so in my opinion the oversight was a double offense. If you are in the hospitality business and you have a group of cyclists who chose to stay in your motel, the least you can do is give about 3 minutes of thought into providing something for breakfast that takes the same effort but would really be appreciated by your clientele, cycling or not.
