“Sorry to report”

I am sorry to report our stay was not the greatest. We arrived at approximately 5:45 and the desk person checked us in. Then she told us there was a slight miscommunication with our room and that it wasn't ready yet, but it should be ready by the time we bring in our luggage. So we did. We stood around for a few minutes and then she kind of threw a remote at us and told us we could watch the TV while we waited. After about 15 more minutes nothing had happened, no explanation etc. so we decided to go out to eat. The lady finally said once I said I don't understand the delay, that she had just come on and that they were short handed and she couldn't communicate correctly with the spanish speaking staff...that she had to walk them down the hall and show them exactly which room needed to be cleaned. My husband got directions to a place and we left...carrying out our luggage again. We were sure we would be back.When we arrived back, same lady was at the desk, but no comment was made to us like, welcome back your room is ready or anything.The room had holes in the carpet...found a dead bug on the bathroom counter and had a giant mirror across the headboard end of the beds instead of a headboard...very odd.The lights were positioned right above the mirrors and were burned out over the one bed.We did enjoy our swim in the pool and hot tub. Beds were satisfactory, although there was a stain on the sheet. No personalization at checkout time either. Note under the door - leave your keys in the room. As we left a different gal was sitting at the computer outside the check in desk...I think it was a computer for guest use. She never said a word to us. Not thank you for staying or come again or hope you enjoyed your stay.We will not be back. I did not complain the day of the stay as I figured I wouldn't be very polite and I didn't want to get in that mood with someone. I would appreciate some sort of explanation and/or reward point compensation or something.Thank you.
