“day inn hilton head”

Booked this hotel because according to the Days Inn website it was located only 19 miles from Parris Island, where I was picking up my son from basic training. Don't know how the mileage distance is measured by the website but the base was almost an hour away from the hotel location. Many of the guests shared our gripe about the inaccuraccy of the distance quoted by the website with the hotel staff as well as the poor lighting and signage once you arrive on Hilton Head Island. We understand that there is an ordinance that forbids bright lighting and readable signs for businesses. Once the sun went down, we were thouroghly frustrasted trying to find our way around and see anything. Giant cats and raccoons running the island and feeding from the dumpsters. Hope to never have to go back.
