“Messed up reservation”

Also there was no one at the hotel to check me in when I arrived (at about 1:50 AM). There was a number to call, and someone did drive up without taking too long, so only a small minus from that. But that wasn't the end of the problems The reservation got screwed up. They thought I was arriving the day after I actually reserved the room. The room they where going to give me was occupied, so they gave me another room. No big deal, except they didn't cancel the first room. I was being charged for both room, and on top of that they apparently mistakenly entered another charge as big as both room charges put together. I found out something was up, when my credit card, which should have had credit available, was declined. They refunded the extra room charge, and canceled the third larger charge. Everything was straightened out in the end. The manager called back later at the number I had left them, with an apology and an effort to make sure everything was OK, and by then (a couple of days later) it was. Still it was annoying, and for a moment I wondered whether I would be able to pay for my room in the next town because they had grabbed so much money. If you could give half point ratings I'd move it up to 2.5 since they where polite and effective in cleaning up the problems, but the fact that the problems happened in the first place keeps its from getting a 3 or higher rating.The room itself was fine. It had a kitchen area , with an oven, which is an unusual plus. I didn't use it, but I would have if I had staid longer. Unfortunately they are apparently getting rid of the ovens.No free breakfast is a downside. You get a discount at the very close by bagel place but its 10%, not a free breakfast.
