“You need a new manager at this location”

The room was filthy. We were afraid to put the air conditioning on because the vents were so covered with crud. There was a remote on top of the tv in a holder that said "clean remote" but it was so covered in crud that we had to use a Kleenex to touch it. That is a moot point anyway because there was no channel guide so we had no idea what the stations were. I went to the front desk and Cassie told me the maid was supposed to leave one in the room. When I asked if I could get one she told me they were in storage and she couldn't leave the front desk. Imagine my surprise when I went down the next morning and there was no one at the front desk. I went to the breakfast room to get coffee and the front desk person was there making coffee. I took the coffee up to the room for my mother who likes weak coffee and she said it tasted like water (I agreed). So we had another expense because we had to go out for coffee and breakfast. We dared not use the shower. The window in the stairwell up to our room was wide open probably to get rid of odors but it had a nice big spider in it to deter any thieves. At checkout I expressed my dissatisfaction with my stay and was told to leave a note with my number for the manager Kelly and she would call and maybe do something rate wise for me. I called back 5 hours later and left another message because I was told she was inspecting rooms (Hah!). I called again 3 days later and was told she was at the bank. When I said I have been waiting for a call about this I was told she was busy because she manages 2 buildings. It is now 5 days later and still have not received a call and I seriously wonder if this person even exists. If this is how Days Inn treats their customers I will never stay in another one or any of its affiliates again.
