“Spider Infested Suite with Soggy Carpet”

One of the worst hotel stays I have had in a while. If it wasn't the only game in town, we never would have stayed there. Having seen the bad reviews prior to checking in, I wasn't expecting the best but this Days Inn surpassed even my vivid imagination. Our "suite" came complete with broken A/C, dubious looking jacuzzi tub, and a spider infestation. When we got to our room, we noticed a large, portable A/C unit by the window. As the room was musty and warm, I immediately went to turn it on and discovered a huge puddle of water emanating from the unit. The carpet was completely soaked. I attempted to call the front desk but neither phone in our room was functional. I went downstairs to alert the staff of our situation and received a non-committal shrug and a, "Yeah, it's broken" from the two ladies behind the desk. Neither offered to switch our room or even gave an apology. We later learned they were supposedly fully booked even though there were maybe ten cars in the parking lot.Upon returning to the room, I attempted to relax with my husband and son as we had just finished a long drive. As I lay on the bed, I began looking around the room and realized there were large spider webs in many corners. Getting up from the bed, I soon discovered (to my everlasting horror) that there were spiders in those webs and they were in almost every single corner of the room. My husband made the complaint this time and we got a fairly quick response and an apology from the front desk clerk. Still, her having knocked all the spiders down did not make me feel better about staying in that room.To add insult to injury, the jacuzzi tub looked as if it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in a while. All the jets were brown. Even better, the water was also brown when it came out of the tap. I attempted to use the shower but the lack of warm water made for a rather miserable bathing experience.Finally, the morning of our departure my one-year old son managed to find a stray M&M on the floor of our room. I did not see where he found it but I was appropriately horrified when I turned around and discovered red-dyed drool coming out of his mouth. I honestly have no idea when that room was last cleaned.The only good thing I can say about this place is that the bed was relatively comfortable. But not comfortable enough to make me ever want to return.
