“Should keep their word”

While the room was fine and relatively comfortable there was no bath -- just a stand up shower. I had spoken to the hotel the night before arriving, explaining that I had had trouble changing the reservation online from one to two guests and had my mother traveling with me. The gentleman I spoke to was very kind and said that he would switch my room to one with two double beds, no extra charge. When I arrived the next day this was not reflected on the computer and when I explained to the customer rep, both she AND the manager failed to honor the gentleman's word and charged me extra anyway-- which I wasn't going to argue as my mother tired and luggage laden. If one of your employees promises a customer something, you should keep their word -- especially if you're the manager and have the ability to do so. Also, the people upstairs were very noisy -- just saying. The manager DID however recommend a decent place to eat next door.
