“The worst Days Inn room ever”

  , Springfield
I stayed in room 162 on this night. I had traveled most of the day and was very tired. If not too tired I would have left immediately. On opening the room door I was greeted with a hole in the carpet that had been patched by a small child. No adult could have been this sloppy. The rest of the carpet was badly worn and frayed in places, especially at the bathroom door. The easy chair in the room was worn on both arms and the headrest so bad the the bare threads below the color coat was showing. The room had a king size bed that was only big enough for a full size at most. The bath tub had had a hole punched in it that was about 6"x3" that had also been repaired by the same child that repaired the carpet. The patch was a different color than the tub. The television was old but servicable and the picture quality was below average. The room was noisy from the close location to I30. It was also noisy from people who were talking, drinking, and smoking in the grassy area outside these rooms until past 10:00 PM. It has been my privilege to stay in Days inns from the East to the West coast. I will never stay here again even though it is the closest hotel to my mothers house.
