“Hotel was nice... but...”

  , Cleveland, Ohio, Usa
Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a staff member. When I informed him that I did not have the corporate credit card I was yelled at and told that he should not be allowing me to check into the hotel at all. In my own experience, this isn't a feasible thing to request as in situations such as this, the vast number of people who would need access to the credit card would make this not feasible. This was also something that was discussed beforehand and settled during the booking process by my company. He told me that he was doing me a favor by even checking me in at all that night. I ended up having to provide my personal credit card information and ID in order to be checked in that night. This problem would not be resolved until the next day.The next day upon speaking with my supervisor and arriving back at the hotel, I spoke to the woman at the front desk. She also was extremely rude with me and informed me that next time I needed to plan ahead and have the corporate credit card with me at the time of check in. But that this time, my supervisor faxing in the signed authorization cards would suffice. Once again this was something that had been discussed with the staff there, and had been told there was no issue with it, since it was a business trip booked by my company. Overall the hotel itself was nice and the room spacious, it was clean. The rest of the staff were friendly and were even kind to my visitors during the trip.To be honest, I would not in the future recommend this hotel to anyone I know, nor would I be willing to book a room with them in the future. One should never have to concern themselves for one minute with the idea that they may be yelled at and spoken down to by the staff of the hotel that they are staying at. They really should find a way to iron this out, so that other individuals on trips do not have to worry about whether or not they will be allowed to check into their rooms. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth, as well as with my coworkers who had to work to resolve this issue.
