“No Parking”

Location was ideal for my business needs but the rest of it was just awful. There is very little on-premise parking (only about a dozen spots). I mostly had to park two or more blocks away for most of the stay. The hotel itself is old but serviceable. The room was tiny and utilitarian. My window opened up to the elevated subway tracks and I was serenaded by passing trains every few minutes. The shower head was moldy and partially clogged. I had to defrost the freezer myself to get the mini-fridge to cool properly. The TV channel selections are atrocious and the reception is even worse.The free breakfast is a joke (the "OJ" is a punch not orange juice at all) as is the so called "business center" (just a small desktop next to the fridge in the breakfast area). Never saw the fitness area. Most of the front desk staff are cordial enough but clearly untrained in the niceties of customer service. One was just plainly rude but was also clearly unaware that he was being rude. Not an excuse but he's clearly not suited for any kind of customer interaction. Watch out for the optional room-safe fee that they try to tack on to your bill at check-out. The only bright spot is a fairly nimble wireless internet connection. I checked out as soon as I could and moved over to the Fairfield Inn down the road for a much better experience with well-trained professional staff and cleaner and better amenities.
