Te hotel is being updated. We are currently in a complete renovation project. The elevator is part of the renovation. Cigarette smell is evident only in the one wing we have designated as smoking rooms. « hide

Any guest can ask for an updated room and we will gladly comply, as all rooms are not yet completely renovated. The plastic was an oversight on our part and that has since been replaced. As far as the washcloth, we contract our linen and towels out to a private company and we have addressed this issue with them. If there are not enough amenities in the room, please contact the front desk, as we have plenty to hand out. We do carry razors, but sometimes the demand is so great, that our order falls behind. « hide

The elevator is currently being upgraded as part of our renovation project. The desk clerks have a responsibility to monitor who's coming and going. It's their job to know who's staying on our property at all times and I commend them for paying attention. « hide

We are always regretful when any of our guests has a bad experience at our hotel. If we are made aware of any such problems, we can easily rectify the situation. Although "there were only 5 rooms taken in the whole place" is a gross exageration, we did have plenty of rooms available had we've been asked. Even in the off season, this hotel is rarely below 50% occupancy. Unfortunately, we cannot do anything about this guest's perception of the Schenectady area. He is definetly in the minority and is the only person I have ever heard to refer to our area as a "ghetto". « hide
