“Not a good Place to stay”

From start to finish, I tried very hard to at least be resigned to my plight, but considering the number of issues, it was just impossible. First, I should have taken the other reviews on this place seriously, but sometimes you think that people are sometimes too picky and expect a 5 star hotel for a 2 star price, but every issue mentioned in the other reviews, were found to be true.1. Upon check in, the doors were locked to the lobby at 9:30 pm, I was very tired from the drive, so was anxious to just get into the room I had reserved 2 weeks before. The female clerk was pretty unfriendly, but I stacked that up to my being tired. We had dogs, for the dog show we were there to attend, and were immediately hit with a $120.00 prepaid pet charge for the 3 nights we were to be there. This was never mentioned when the reservation was made, but hey, things happen and perhaps it was my misunderstanding. We checked into the hotel and then the other problems started.2. Cleanliness, one of the beds in the room had crumbs in it, and hairs from a previous guest. The carpet was threadbare and had holes in it, the baseboards were filthy (caked with dirt), the phone didn't work unless you held the jack into the wall manually, the bedspreads both had burn holes from cigarettes, crack or whatever, nothing would have surprised me. The next day we moved to another room, problem solved right? Wrong! The next room was also dirty and we found something under one of the pillows that looked like someones dingleberry under a pillow. What it was, I'm not sure, but it certainly wasn't reassuring. I went to the hotel owner/manager, who was quite apologetic, said this was a new problem and that they had never before gotten complaints on cleanliness. Rather than create a confrontation by stating that he really needed to read the other reviews on his hotel, I accepted a SUPERVISED cleaning of the room with fresh sheets, and other standard cleaning procedures. At that point, at least the room was livable. I'm going to gloss over the many other detrimental issues due to a lack of time for a long review, suffice to say, if you have a choice, DON'T stay here!
