“Staff was Friendly but hotel was dirty and was robbed at gunpoint during our visit!”

  , Lillington
Our Girls Softball Team stayed at the Days Inn in Gastonia on July 18 and 19th and checked out on the morning of July 20th. The staff were very friendly but the hotel is a little out-dated. The balconies were filthy and a lot of the rooms had an odor to them. The pool had cigarette butts in it and the breakfast was not all that great. On Friday evening, July 19th we were all out at the pool with our families and children. Around 8:15 p.m. there were approximately 8 police officers that came flying into the hotel parking lot. The hotel had been robbed at gunpoint just a few minutes earlier and we were not even 40 feet from where it happened. Needless to say this was a terrible experience. One of the police officers walked over to question us to see if we had seen anything. He told us that we were staying in a terrible neighborhood and it was very unsafe. Also, during the night several of the parents complained of loud noises, sirens going by all night long and also someone walking up and down the halls knocking on doors at 2 and 3 o'clock in the morning. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE!
