“Miami Amtrak Trip”

  , S Daytona
I was glad that the motel had a restaurant, but surprised to find it was primarily a bar and that when we arrived at around 7pm there was loud music playing outside. However I suppose this is quite normal for the Miami Beach area. The waitress was very nice and the food was very good and reasonably priced. As we ate a little girl flirted with us through the window as she rode her scooter. The room was old, but very clean. However the mattress sagged when the other person got into bed. The street was quiet as far as traffic and very close to the beach. Nearby was a public walkway that stretched for several blocks in either direction and had quite a collection of regular joggers and dog-walkers. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The room rate was quite a bit lower than the hotels closer to downtown and very reasonable. Since we came from the Amtrak station it was very convenient since it was very close to 79th street and was almost a straight shot. Within one block were several restaurants and drug stores where we could either eat or get last minute supplies. It was very easy and safe to be picked up by both the tour company and the cab driver as we left. We were very happy and would certainly stay there again. In fact, the cab driver who took us back to Amtrak as we left said he likes to eat at the Jewish Deli just behind the motel ! Days Inn has come through for us over the years and this time was no exception. Good for you, Days Inn.
