“You get what you pay for”

  , Northampton
I made the trip arrangements at the last minute and in an effort to save money. I booked at the Days Inn with realistic expectations. The hotel is fairly seedy (which I was expecting). The entryway by the exterior door closest to my room smelled foul and attracted a legion of flies. The exercise equipment (all 3 pieces) were falling apart. The parking lot, lobby, and hallways are in desperate need of renovation. The hallways smell of tobacco. The room thankfully appeared to be adequately clean and smelled comfortingly of cleaning agents. Still, I didn't go barefoot. Zero soundproofing. I could hear fights in the hallway and I listened to my neighbor's TV.For the price, it's what I expected. If you want a better hotel, expect to pay more. The neighborhood wasn't scary, but it was a hike to get to any commerce, including restaurants.
