We have stayed at the hotel before and in the same suite. Upon opening the door to our room, there was an odor that we know to be from the room previously being a smoking room - the smoke smell is probably still in the walls/furniture/heat filters. The heat was not on and the room was very cool. Upon looking into the hot tub we noticed some black spots which we determined to be mouse droppings. We immediately let the front desk know to have someone clean it. When we returned to the room quite a few hours later the mess had been cleaned. Upon closer inspection of the hot tub we noticed scum around the jets and filter. When the hair dryer was used in the morning we noticed it was dirty and all the settings were not working. Upon checking out we advised the front desk of the problems we encountered and they stated they would talk to the owners. We received a phone call later in the day offering us a $25+ tax return on our credit card. I called back and asked them to see if they would refund the difference between the price of a regular room and the suite, which they did. We understand these things happen but with hot tubs, proper precautions need to be taken to ensure they are propertly disinfected and cared for. Rooms also should be checked prior to check in time and heat/ac adjusted accordingly so the room is comfortable for the guest upon check in. Our concerns were addressed and we were satisfied with the end result.
